You are watching: State of decay 2 new game plus

I tried researching this before I started my final mission and did not find any information. Set yourself up better then I did.The game will inform you that you are on the final mission, and completing it stops that survivor colony and sets up legacy bonuses for new game +. NG+ awards you with a boon that helps out tremendously, based on the leader type that you chose. Once you finish the last mission, you are awarded your boon, and can start a new colony. You can choose up to 2 boons, with 4 very different perks available for each leader type. Then you are asked to pick any 3 survivors, each one can be one of your legacy characters from your main game. They will have every skill and item they have from the main game. You can pick any 3, and they will be unavailable if you start another colony on the side. Starting another colony still gives you the perks, but you cant pick legacy survivors that are on another colony you have already started. **BE SURE TO LOAD THEM UP WITH ALL YOUR BEST ITEMS** When the NG+ starts, you will have those survivors and if you gave them all of the best items and skills, you will have a tremendous head start in the new game. I failed to do this except for the character I was controlling, she had tons of ammo and explosives. The rest were only carrying their weapons backpacks and some ammo and healing items. To set yourself up for NG+, each of your characters should have maxed or close to maxed skills, and skill books should be used to max out the utility skills as well so they are instantly more powerful in NG+. Moreover, they should be holding all of the things that are crucial in a new game, vehicle repair kits, gasoline, vehicle upgrade kits, best weapons/explosives and tons of ammo. A few vehicle upgrade kits would make an insane advantage early on in the game, specially if you didn"t get the deluxe edition supply drop vehicle. Here are the known leader boons:Warlord - Lots of weapons, ammo and explosives (lots of AR"s with scopes and 400 ammo, 2 sniper rifles and 50 rounds of .50cal ammo. Buildier - Basewide power and water at no cost and no noiseNot sure what the other two are, I"ll update when we find out.
Tagging this for later. I have 11 survivors and still on the first map. I"m going to move to the next map soon as I"d like to check them all out before NG+.This is very useful info, thanks TC.

Good info.4 leaders total. The other 2 are:Sheriff - specialty in recovery and crafting medical items.Trader - summon any trader over the radio. The menu where you are about to build inside an empty slot at home - scroll to the very bottom of "build factory", and it lists 4 special leader projects you can build depending on the leader selected.

Basewide water/power seems like a great permanent boon that helps all game long, while the warlord boon of tons of weapons and ammo and grenades really just speeds up the early game and makes plague hearts super easy. I"m not sure if trader bonus of 4000 influence is better...Since I really enjoy the gunplay I think I"ll always pick warlord. I really didn"t like having to save my good weapons since ammo was lacking. Starting with over 450 rounds of AR ammo right from the start allowed me to clear things I shouldn"t be able to clear so early, and 50 rounds of 50cal meant I could kill multiple plague hearts with 3 shots almost instantly.

So can you complete the story on one map or eventually do you have to progress through all 3 maps?

Yes but when you start a new game while skipping the tutorial to load your legacy characters who are maxed out and holding all of the best items in the game on their person, you dont get to pick your map, its chosen at random. the best way to remedy this is to just use the radio option to unlock another map and move during that second play through. luckily for me I ended up in another map. I read someone complain that they ended up in the same map. its easy enough to move.

Everyday people donate supplies to your community. No resources as far as I can tell just items that go to your supply locker
Trader gets you 4k influence and a trader visits you as soon as you make your first settlement in the game.

I just want to get some clarification:So you finish the story on the map you start on, then NG+? Or do you finish the story on the first map and then use your radio to find an exit and drive to the next map?
